Monarchs east of the Rocky Mountains spend the winters in high mountains in central Mexico. Monarchs west of the Rockies migrate to locations on the central California coast. En route, they may travel as far as 2,000 miles, covering one hundred miles per day, and flying as high as 10,000 feet. One of the best places to see them is at the Monarch Grove Sanctuary in Pacific Grove, nicknamed Butterfly Town. Arriving in October, over 25,000 Monarch Butterflies cluster together on the pines and eucalyptus trees of the Sanctuary where you can enjoy seeing them while finding this microbox.

Directions:
In Pacific Grove, go west on Lighthouse Ave to Ridge Road and turn left. The Monarch Grove Sanctuary will be on your right, but park on the left.

Clues:
Follow the path west into the sanctuary to the information kiosk. Continue on path 18 steps to a butterfly chair on the right. Go behind left side of chair 3 steps to evergreen tree. Microbox is hanging on back side 4 feet high. Please replace as described and be discreet.
