These five wonderful stamps were carved by the TOADFROGS.

First off remember BUG SPRAY! There is one section of this trail that breeds mosquitoes! Second, there IS poison ivy around so be aware as to what it looks like. Third and most important, have clean hands... the raccoons here are desperate to find food and letterboxes smelling like food. So be sure to secure them UNDER the articles they were placed under. I will be hunting for some nice flat rocks to replace the bark and sticks, so if you have some, bring them along and let me know so I can change the clues.

You can find park maps here: http://www.scpd-parks.org/parks.htm

Pull together all the Gibsonburg Letterboxes before you start. There are some on Route 300 and some on Route 600 so plan it out and make a map. These boxes include:

The POP ICON boxes are in WHITE STAR PARK.

Directions: Take Route 20 to State Route 300 South. Keep STRAIGHT through town. You will see the Campground on your right and the White Star Quarry entrance on your left. Pass them and take the next LEFT on County Road 65. You can almost see the sign for the White Star Park, on your RIGHT as you turn. Pull in and park in the lot on your RIGHT just as you pull into the driveway. Park your vehicle.

CLUES: Follow the path to the RIGHT into the woods past the White Star Park “You are here” sign. When you come to the Y stay LEFT. Stay to the LEFT at the next Y also. (115 of my steps [I am 5 feet tall] will bring you to the Sycamore sign on your RIGHT.) Around the corner, on your LEFT, notice the twin trees. Go just past the trees, into the deer trail and enter around to the back of these trees. There is a little gnome home, hole here at the bottom of the trees. Under the slice of log you will find THE REBEL letterbox pouch. [W83.31930 - N 4136942]
Continue on the trail until you find the sign on your RIGHT for the acorn tree. THE WALRUS letterbox pouch can be found under some sticks and pieces of bark behind that huge acorn tree. [83.31965 - N 41.36905]
Continue on the trail. Stop and read the great black swamp story.
Off to your LEFT, off the trail you will notice two log cabins.
Pass by the trail on your RIGHT… Notice the Red Barn on your LEFT.
Go STRAIGHT past the White Star Park “You are here” sign
Pass the clean up crew sign and barbed wire fence on your LEFT, stay straight on the mowed trail. Pass the field area, do not take the trail off to the LEFT that enters the fields, instead follow the mowed trail back into the woods.
The next sign on the left is predator/prey sign. Continue past and around the corner. Notice the fallen log on your RIGHT, pass it. Notice the very interesting many armed tree on your LEFT, pass it too. Too much poison ivy here… Continue past the tree with the huge hole. Go around the corner. The next sign is the woodlands sign on your RIGHT, pass this.
STOP when you see the huge dead tree/log on your right. The area has a lot of woody vines here and is near a huge maple tree. Go directly behind this tree and find the smaller dead tree/log running the same way the trail goes. At the base of this tree in the trunk you will find a lock n lock box containing the only logbook and MARILYN. [W 83.31960 - N 41.36681] Sign and stamp and then continue back on the trail. Around the corner you go until you see the RED BARN in front of you and the White Star Park “You are here” sign on your right.
This is the same sign you passed earlier, so keep LEFT. When you see the trail on your LEFT, that you had passed on the way in, take it. Notice the huge tree on your RIGHT that may have been struck by lightening. Stay away from it, it looks dangerous.
Continue until you notice that huge scary tree on your LEFT, back in the woods a ways. IF you are alone take a compass reading before leaving the trail. It is a little difficult to find your way back to the trail because the brush is so thick here. Walk out to the back of the tree. Watch for poison ivy on that tree. Look directly behind it to the next tree. It had berries on it when I planted the box. Look on the ground behind the berry tree, under bark and sticks and find THE KING letterbox pouch. [W 83.32040 - N 41.36815]
Continue on the trail and keep LEFT at the Y. See the nature recycling sign. Notice the main highway is just through the woods on your LEFT.
The bedrock sign is on your RIGHT. Continue until you see a trail to the LEFT that leads across the highway. Take this dirt trail. Cross the road, go through the gate with the park boundary, no parking anytime sign. Take this gravel trail until you see the twin trees on your RIGHT. There are also more woody vines here. Go into the woods and notice the five rocks in the circle formation off to the LEFT of these trees. Stand inside this circle facing the trail. This will be a nice place to sit and stamp. There are three rock nearer the trail and 2 rock behind you. Notice the rock between the 1st and 2nd rock near the trail side. It looks like a petrified piece of wood. Under it you will find THE DUKE letterbox pouch. [W 83.31919 - N 41.37039]
Turn around on the trail and go back to the main road. When you reach the pavement look off to your left and notice the White Star Park sign and driveway on the RIGHT side of the road. This is where you are parked. So follow this road back to your car, keeping on the side of the road.

Happy boxing.
