This adventure follows three friendly dinosaurs who visited Webb Mountain Discovery Zone on a school trip.

Boxes have no ink, log book in last box only.

Teddy, Timmy, and Tommy all got on the bus one day.

“Wow! I am so excited we get to go see the discover zone instead of sitting in class” said Tommy

“I know wasn’t it great that the Monroe School System built this great place to help us learn more about Nature!” exclaimed Timmy

“I just hope I get to see some animals!” said gloomy Teddy

Just as their bus pulled into the parking lot they noticed a great big sign thanking all the people who helped make this park happen and their bus parked here.

“Wow, look it that” Teddy got off the bus and walked to the trail map holder, remembering to close the lid so they don’t get wet in the rain. “I think this will be important for us to find everything, we better take one”

Tommy was excited and took along one of the scavenger hut sheets for each of them. He wanted to get as many points as he could. “Remind me to drop the pencil back off at the end of the day so the next person that comes along can use it”

Timmy who gets lost often was excited to see all the marker number on the map with names of important places “Oh good, now I know where we will all be”

Each of these three friends had a specific place they wanted to see and learn about. The teach said if it was done right they could all see their places and get back on the bus in about 45 minutes.

Teddy who loves animals went to the Birthing Station to learn all about livestock. He was so excited when he got there he followed a path past the brown sign along the left of an old stone wall. When he got to the end of the stone wall, he wanted take a break. Unfortunately he fell asleep at the base of the tree next to the stone wall beneath a pile of rocks.

Timmy who likes learning about nature was really interested in the Fully Decomposed Log. When he got there and stood looking at the sign he saw a great big tree which had a large knot about fifteen feet up on it. He got so excited he decided to take a closer look, he ran up to it. But just like Teddy he fell asleep under a pile of rocks on the right and slightly to the back of the base.

Tommy who loves being outdoors went to go learn about all the creatures that live in the wild. He made his way to the Mammal Sand Tracks he carefully crept around the edge so he didn’t disturb the sand and walked to the bench. Just as his two friends did he got distracted while walking past the left side of the bench, he noticed straight ahead was a tree with an upside down hollow at its base. He walked over and explored this space. I bet you already know he fell asleep like his friends. He is tucked behind some rocks inside the hollow.

When their teacher noticed they were missing she found them and nicely told them that if they head straight on Froggy Freeway they will get back to the bus. “Just follow the signs for the parking lot; by the way what are you scores on the scavenger hunt?”

Teddy had a 11, Timmy had a 16, and Tommy got the best with a 20.

What did you find today? I personally found the Rocks-a-poppin the best. Maybe it is because I remember pop rocks on school trips or maybe it is because I spotted a really interesting partially hollowed stump about 15 steps off the path to the left of the sign. Looks like you could easily discover something there.
