Messina Hof #3 is the 3rd attempt to leave a letterbox at this great winery. Since I first went here probably 8 years ago the winery has grown tremendously, and their wines are some of the best in Texas. Great facilities (Tours, tasting, B&B and restruarant) and nice people. The ports are wonderful!!!
Directions:
Traveling from Houston to Bryan on Hwy 6 look for the Old Reliant rd exit, and take it. Go right on Old Reliant and follow the signs to the winery (about 2 miles in). Pull in on your left and park.
To the Microbox:
Go in and taste or look around. When done, go around the building to the lake, and take the trail on the left heading around the lake. When you come out of the trees, go left off the path, down the hill and across the little wood bridge. Go right and follow the stream to the 3rd bench with an iron bowl next to it. Sit on the bench and look just left of the iron bowl at the rocks. Locate the round pink rock, and the long orange rock behind it. The box is between these 2, covered with small rocks. Be sure you cover it well when done, and have fun!!!
