This clue is part of the Urbana Park District’s Wild About Parks Quest--celebrating the Anita Purves Nature Center’s 30th anniversary. The Quest runs 6/13/09-6/12/10, but the boxes will remain in place indefinitely. Prizes can be won during the Quest for those who find 10, 20, and 30 boxes. Crystal Lake Park Labyrinth Clue
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15-20 minutes
Crystal Lake Park has many parts. Finding this box will be an art.
The playground on Crystal Lake Park Road is where your car should be stowed.
You’ll find a sidewalk to the left. Take a stroll and head west.
Toward the hospital you will travel. Stop when you reach the path of gravel.
Heading north you will find--on your right--a Labyrinth sign.
Read about this nice relaxing place. Then find the sign your finger can trace.
If you feel you won’t get fazed, step right in and try the maze.
When you’re done you’ll need a rest; sit on a bench to catch your breath.
Now that you’re here, please look around. Have you noticed the landscaped ground?
Three sets of grasses stand the largest of all. Check for the clue box at the center of them all!
Note: Please be considerate of the landscaping when removing and replacing the letterbox. The Labyrinth is also located in a high traffic area, so be very discrete when stamping in and please re-hide well.
Parking: If parking is not available on Crystal Lake Park Road, there is also parking available near the large pavilion and Lake House within Crystal Lake Park, and even the Champaign County Fairgrounds’ parking lot on the corner of Fairview Ave. and Park Road.
