Strawberry/rhubarb, coconut, butterscotch, peanut butter, apple, cherry, peach..whats your favorite?

“Henry’s Finest” is located at Henrys Restaurant, 6275 US Rt. 40 just a little west of West Jefferson, and boy what a step back in time you will go!

It all began in the early 1950’s when Henry Summerford opened up this Sohio gas station/restaurant. These were the days when Rt. 40 or commonly called the National Road was the most direct route running east and west. The days before I 70 opened up. These were the days when travelers could stop, get a fill up, their windshields washed, tires checked, get your car serviced and all the while you could sit and dine on a fine home cooked meal. Then to top it off, you could have a slice of “Henry’s Finest”.

Henry passed away decades ago, and this establishment is now being owned and operated by the Bennett family. Chester and Belinda Bennett along with son Brent and daughter Shelley Kelley have kept the tradition of Henry's going. Shelley is the pie maker and makes around 11 pies per day from scratch.

The hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 6:30 AM-8:00 PM. On a side note: Henry’s still operates as it did in days gone by-no credit or debit cards, only cash.

Shelley was delighted to have “Henry's Finest” at the restaurant, it is located in the display case where the cash register is.. Just ask. Hope you enjoy!

While in the area, be sure to visit The Historic Red Brick Tavern Letterbox, just a few miles down the road going west.
