Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Easy
Time: Less than 30 minutes

Directions: Rt. 2 to the Alewife MBTA Station, or take the MBTA Redline to Alewife Station. You can also find this box when finding the Minuteman Bikeway boxes and/or the Fresh Pond box.

NOTE 8/05: Please make sure to put the logbook back in the ziplock bag and seal it. And also put the box inside the bags ans seal. The logbook has had to be replaced 3 times because everything is left open. Thanks.

Clue: Find the Alewife Entrance to the Minuteman Bikeway by locating the silver stars and stripes gate and the Alewife Fish Columns. By the gate, look across the street to see the Alewife Brook Reservation Trailhead. Cross the street and go to the trailhead. There are usually trailmaps there, but you don't need it to find the box. Take the small trail to the left of the trailhead. Cross the small stream. When you arrive at the clearing take a left onto the path. This can be a busy path for commuters, joggers and bikers. It's not much to look at, but if you have time explore the small trails on the right that lead to the water. It's a nice(but sometimes wet) area for bird watching. Continue down the path. Note the concrete fence on your left. When the concrete fence ends, walk approximately 115 more steps. Look out for a tall concrete post off trail on the left in front of a tree. Go to the post and you'll see a tree trunk on the ground to your left. Look under the rocks and brick to find the Alewife letterbox. Please be discreet stamping in and returning the box. This can be a busy path, especially during the weekdays. Now turn around and head back the way you came.
