Heading south out of Challis, about 10 miles, look for the entrance to Grand View Canyon.
Grand View Canyon is probably my 2nd favorite spot of the drive between our new home in Montana, and the drive south to visit family in Idaho, Utah, and then back down to my home in central Texas. It's a beautiful view- enjoy your ride through it!
Before you enter the canyon there is a pull out on the left hand side, park there. Be careful, but cross the road and head to the sign. Once you are at the sign turn to the north. Walk approx 30 steps to a clump of sagebrush. To their right is a bunch of boulders. There at the base is a symbol of my home state of Texas.
Be careful- there is a geocache in the area! We found it at the first spot I wanted to hide our box!! :)
