Start at the main gate to the Arnold Arboretum at 125 Arborway, Jamaica Plain MA 02130.
If the visitor center is open, come on in and say hello.
Follow the paved roads to the intersection of Valley Road and Hemlock Hill Road.
Continue west on Hemlock Hill Road. You will pass 2 benches on your right. At the second bench, start counting your steps. Take 58 steps. Just past the large Japanese
yews on the right side is an unmarked path.
Follow this path 20 steps to the Amelanchier arborea (downy serviceberry) shrub.
Cross the wooden bridge over Bussey Brook and turn right. Continue 130 steps along the brook.
On the left is an Amelanchier arborea tree accessioned in 1941.
Circle around that tree until you find the letterbox and follow the directions inside.
