Heritage Park Location

- Locate Heritage Park at the intersection of Route 83 and Dearborn Road in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

- Park your car in the parking lot next to the children's playground and baseball fields.

- Begin your journey by finding the green and yellow Heritage Park welcome sign next to the playground. Proceed down the paved path toward the pond on your left and swamp on your right.

- Follow the path through the park and onto a dirt path, passing 4 picnic tables on the left as you walk. After the 4th picnic table will have arrived at an open field to your right.

- Make a right and walk along the tree line perimeter of the field. About mid field you will find an opening to a trail between a bunch of white birches to your left and right.

- Walk up the trail, past a large tree with a split limb to the left of the path. Continue on past 3 live and 1 dead sister trees, and step over mossy roots. You will have arrived at a pine tree "gate".

- Pace out 56 steps from pine gate to stump on left of trail. Cross over fallen tree as you go. Continue down trail make right at T intersection to find a skull and crossbones campsite.

- Make a right at the skull tree and find 3 scattered rocks in the trail. From the 1st rock count 50 paces down the trail and stop.

- Look left off the trail and into the woods to find a graveyard of fallen white birches. (We checked our box in May and realized that this area is a bit overgrown with ferns. It may be hard to see the birches. At this point I would recommend when you look left, to also start walking in that direction and you will find them eventually. Maybe 50 feet in).

- Walk to and along the fallen birches to find a rotting birch stump.

- Here you will find the Tuxedo Triplets nestled in the stump.

- Please be certain to replace the box carefully and cover it well. Hope you had fun!
