Downtown North Attleboro is peppered with many fun and artistic shops. One of my favorites is Plaster Plus. This plaster painting, pine car racing, Bears-2-Go shop opened its doors in 2007 for adults and children of all ages to express their artistic talents. There is even a little “castle” play area for the littlest ones to play while mom or dad paint. The pinewood derby track is superfast with laser timing. Unfortunately, the owners decided to move to Florida and tried to sell the store, but there were no buyers. Many of us came to wish the family good luck and to tearfully paint one last time before the doors were to close. Imagine our surprise when we drove by days later to reminisce and found Plaster Plus reopened! The new owner said she had to buy it at the last hour after she saw so many families coming in to paint and play, many of them weeping through their good-byes! Hooray, Plaster Plus was saved! And now you can visit Plaster Plus and find our first letterbox!

Plaster Plus is located at 19 North Washington Street (Route 1a), North Attleboro. Once you parallel part on the street (or park with ease in the back), enter the store from the street side entrance. Say hello to 6 out of the 7 dwarfs on your right as you walk in (can you figure out who is missing?). Check out the green, blue, yellow and red “walls” of plaster pieces. Wave at the friendly stuff-your-own faces in the Bears-2-Go shelves and check out the "Rock Star birthday studio". Chose a piece to paint, or pick out one of Ellee’s other crafts to decorate. If you’ve never painted plaster before, her little helper will walk you through all the simple steps. Once you’ve painted, hand your piece to Ellee at the counter and while she sprays the finishing touches on it, bend down to look between the two counters. At the very bottom, tucked in the crevasse of the counters awaits your “plus”. Stamp at any one of her tables, but avoid the “Party Zone” if someone is celebrating a birthday. Ellee has given us permission to plant so give her a big thank you after you rehide! If you have time, wander up and down the main street and see what other treasures you might find.

Plaster Plus is open Mon 12pm-6pm, Tues – Closed, Wed - 12pm-6pm, Thurs - 12pm-6pm, Fri - 12pm-6pm, Sat- 10am-6pm, Sun - 12pm-6pm.
