When visiting Walden Pond State Reservation, enjoy a walk around the pond. Locate Ice Fort Cove. With your back to the water, find 3 large cement blocks on the ground. 25 steps uphill there is a stump in the middle of the trail. Continue up the path. When you reach the top of the ridge and the trail becomes more level, count 30 steps walking along Fire Road North, parallel to the tracks, to a quadruple white birch. Here you will find a small celebration of our 8th anniversary, the quadruple trunk signifying our 4 wonderful children. 8th anniversaries are "supposed" to be celebrated by buying bronze statues and linens, but we preferred a nice hike in the woods.
