Disclaimer: This is for letterboxing only, "Rubber Robbers
(Those who steal letterboxes) need not read on.

Notes:

Block Island has always been a special location to us, we decided to share that wonderful experience with all you letterboxing fans out there. Block Island was founded in 1661 and has a rich history filled with pirates and hidden treasure

Directions

From the old harbor ferry on block island; turn right onto Water Street.
Continue to the first stop sign and continue to Corn Neck Road. Continue for approximately three miles until you see a sign on your right reading "Clayhead Trail".
If you reach "The Labyrinth" then you've gone too far and need to turn around.
From "Corn Neck" Road you need to hike it on foot, though it’s a short walk.
At the trail head start, walk through the wooden picket fence, and walk over three wooden plank bridges passing a pond on your right. A beautiful view of the ocean is directly ahead. Continue northeast on the trail (or you may decide to take a quick stop on the path on the right leading to the beach, just be sure to return once done). The path becomes sandy here, continue and soon you will pass through an opening in a stone wall. To the left (North) there is a large boulder in the (V) of the wall. There you will find a large flat rock covered in vines, pull it away and move aside another small rock. There you will (Anchor) your first of two stamps.

Continue through the stone wall and bear right (East) on the path. If it is spring time, enjoy the field of daffodils on the left. Otherwise enjoy the continuous view of the ocean year round (careful near the edges, it's a long way down!). After a panoramic view of the cliffs ahead, this trail comes to an intersection. Head right (North) keeping the ocean to your right. Soon there will be yet another intersection with a sign that reads "Main Trail Left"; follow this sign and bear to your immediate right (not into the field). Continue walking about two hundred yards and there will be a small pond on your left with another soon on your right. Before the wooden plank bridge go right toward the pond. Walk around the right side of the pond, toward the bluffs. Once the stone wall descends closer to the ground, with larger rocks-walk ten paces (or with compass south at 155 degrees). In front of you should be a large flat triangular rock, behind that rock the island stamp awaits you.
Alternatively: you may go all the way to the edge of the bluffs (not all the way-don't fall) and turn around to walk 25 paces finding the said rock on your left.

Success!!! you've added two more stamps to your already growing collection. We recommend that you continue to explore the trail, for it has so much more to show you.
