1. Go to Sally Milligan Park. Our trail begins from Cross Lane.
2. Take a left at the trailhead.
3. Pass an old water fountain on your left
4. On your right, look for the triple trunk tree.
5. Continue up the little hill.
6. Go right at the Y in the massive fallen white pine tree.
7. The trail will divide a grotto in the stones left by receding glaciers.
8. Stay left until you come to an intersection. Follow the trail divided by the stump.
9. Stand on the rock at the next intersection of two trails and look behind you. Notice the #12 on the tree (someone made a Frisbee golf course). Continue following the trail you were on as it goes straight.
10. Brambles border either side of the trail. Continue on and go up the hill.
11. Stay left at the two fingered tree.
12. Follow the trail on the right side of stone wall to the right angle. Look left at the right angle to see the pond.
13. Continue on the path next to the wall down the stairs.
14. At the break in the stone wall, go left into the coniferous forest.
15. Stay straight at #16 then veer left.
16. Take a right at #17.
17. Stay straight until you reach #18 where you should take a right on to the main trail.
18. A small fire pit divides the trail. Stay right. Blueberries abound around your feet.
19. Look for the smiling tree on your left as you stand upon the buried boulder.
20. Go right at the next fork followed by a quick left. Listen for the train.
21. At the fallen pine tree, go right. You will come to a ledge from which you can see two big rocks.
22. Climb down to the boulder closest to the ledge. Look for the branches covering the base of the stone. There our letterbox is hidden.
23. After leaving your mark in the book and collecting the stamps, look across the tracks to the white school building beyond the playground. That is us – wave!
