Directions to Colt State Park:
Directions from Providence: Take Interstate Rte.195 East, to Exit 2, Rte.114 South, to Hope Street in Bristol
Notice: Colt State Park is a high traffic area for many travelers. Please be sure to be aware of your surroundings so that others don't see you expose the letterbox. Many "Rubber Robbers" (people who steal letterboxes) may be lurking.
Clue Directions:
Once in the park, travel through the "Bull Gates" and bear left past the intersection after the bike path. Continue into the park till you reach the ocean.
Park your car (if using one)
Look to the left for the "John H Chafee" statue surrounded by stone benches. From this statue, head south west across the field to an impressive "Beech" tree at the corner of a stone wall by fire pit #33.
You may choose different activities here such as kite flying, having a nice picnic or many other outdoor activities. This is largely known for kite flying, which is why we chose this theme.
Walk along this stone wall, about "60 paces" from the beech tree (distance varies slightly per person) to the third tree.
Go between the tree and the stone wall, in that tree there is an opening at the base of the tree trunk. Remove the stones wedged in that hole and you will find your "flying" treasure.
