Directions to the Dragonhaven:
From the Beltway, take the Toll Road (Rt. 267) towards Herndon. (Don’t follow the Dulles access road, or you’ll end up at the airport.) Exit onto Rt. 7100, Fairfax County Parkway and head south (left at the exit). Turn left at the light at West Ox Road. Take the third right onto Ashburton Avenue and continue straight to its end at a cul-de-sac.
At the top of the cul-de-sac lies a house. If you look a bit to the left of that house, there is a bike path. Follow that bike path up to the playground. The dragons just love to watch the joyful faces of the children as they play around here. Now dragons are shy animals, so be quiet as you get onto the playground, or they may fly away. Tiptoe to the very end of the swing set, right up by the brush. If you move over to the right, you will see a stump. You are very close now! Try not to make a noise! In the back of this stump, you will find the dragonhaven. Welcome to the sanctuary of these whimsical creatures, who have made their dwelling here to see and hear the joy and laughter of children. I do believe you can coax one of these dragons to you notebook, where it will give you a small souvenir of your find, if provided with ink of course!
