Adults’ Clues

1. Park beside the flagpole, near the entrance. The Miller-Kite House Museum is the tall brick building on you’re right as your coming down the road near 7-11. It also served as the head quarters of General Stonewall Jackson.
2. Stand beside the pole. Face the graveyard and turn to your left. Walk 20 steps; read the stone. They are going to open the time capsule in the year 2033.
3. Walk to the double-heart stone labeled SNYDER.
4. Stand behind the gravestone and walk to the biggest tree.
5. Walk to the black LAM gravestone. Look at his picture. Elk Run has 48 Confederate soldiers buried in it.
6. Walk to MOWBRAY gravestone with the dog and guitar on it.
7. Walk to the black gravestone labeled BREEDEN with a house on it.
8. Walk to the red-double heart gravestone named FRAZIER.
9. Walk to the fence with gravestones in it.
10. Follow the fence to the gravestone that looks like the Washington Monument with a bush in front of it, and a gravestone labeled HARNSBERGER. The Harnsbergers were among the early settlers about Elkton.
11. You can’t look over it, you can’t look under it, you have to look through it.

Children’s Clues
Bring a pencil and piece of paper to do a grave rubbing.
1. Stand beside the flagpole and skip seven times to the left to the time capsule. They are going to open the time capsule in the year of 2033.
2. Run as fast as you can to the double heart, gray stone labeled SNYDER.
3. Go behind the stone and crawl to the big tree. Stay low so no one can get you.
4. Walk to the black stone with the name LAM on it. It looks like a harp. Put the paper up against the gravestone and rub over the name with the pencil. Elk Run Cemetery has 48 Confederate soldiers buried in it.
5. Hop like a bunny to the MOWBRAY gravestone. Watch out for the dog, so hurry to the next one.
6. Run from the dog to the black gravestone with the name BREEDEN on it. There is an area in section six that is a slave graveyard.
7. Crawl because you’re tired to the gravestone that’s red with the name FRAZIER. There are inscribed stone markers on the gravestone of the slaves.
8. Bear crawl to the fence with a gravestone on it
