Tia Rose, Downeast Dog Scouts Troop 159

Go to the Southwest Harbor Public Library, the main entrance is located in rear of building off the main road with public parking. http://www.swhplibrary.org/index.htm

As you walk towards the main entrance staircase you will see a ramp. Follow the ramp along the left side of the building to the fenced area. Go through the arched entry way in the fence to the place where children go to listen to stories in the summer time. Take 10 steps forward and look to the right hand side. There is a set of two steps below double doors and to the left of a water spicket. Beneath the bottom step all the way to the right is where you will find what you seek.

If you are traveling with young children try to attend story time. There will be singing and dancing and learning to sign and maybe even learning to rhyme. You may even find a dog or two willing to listen to a story read by you. If you need a hint or two, just ask a librarian as that will do.

The library is open six days a week but the letterbox is accessible anytime you seek.
