Institute for American Indian Studies, located on Curtis Rd. Route 6 to 67North to 199. Curtis rd will be 3 miles up on left and the reservation will be at the end on the right. I advise you to check out the museum. It has interesting facts on how natives lived off their land. To observe and to walk on the trails it will require a fee. it will be $5 per adult and $2 for child, well worth it.
Find the trail board. from there find your way to the Village.

Big Chief's village was being freightened by the sounds of a scary snarling wolf but no one can see this animal. With his hunters already out for a couple of days to hunt for food, he decided it was his duty to protect his village. So he left his oldest son to tend the village till he comes back and rid the Snarling wolf. he left the village onto the Yellow trail, seeing the red trail on right he knew that would only draw him more far away from the wolf. So he stayed on yellow. Admiring his fellow natives work along the way, he saw on the left,a hand made sleeping bunker made of branches and leaves. Then he saw the kids hand made Teepee on the right, and another sleeping bunker on the left. from there at the turn he saw a strange trail to the right. he followed this trail to only realize he was going the wrong way. Getting late on his travels, he decided to make his own SLEEP BUNKER next to a cave. made his fire pit and cut his own wood for the night to keep warm. But he wanted something to sit on rather than the ground. so he made a Chair using the 6 foot stump next to a falled down tree, using a SLATE ROCK to hide his self portrait. In the morning he back tracked to the main trail and stayed on yellow, he was admiring the wonderful trees along the way. First he saw the white oak, then the hemlock, red maple, american Beech, Hickery. he came across an intersection, but stayed on yellow. Hearing a sound of a wimper Then he remembered that there was a trap he set at the Black Birch Tree. And there in his trap in the crevice of the Boulder covered in leaves, he see's the snarling wolf. Big Chief looked at this wolf and asked why he was scaring his people?Wolf spirit's are to protect not scare. He hears the Wolf wimper in pain again, looking at the wolf's paw and removed the thorn causing the pain. Seeing the wolf in a relaxed state he released him. The wolf looked at Big Chief as to thank him and ran off. Since then there has been no scary noises to the village, just a beautiful sound of a wolf Howling to the moon! Enjoy these trails for there are alot of interesting artifacts off these trails.
