Difficulty: Moderate (river crossing)
Distance to Letterbox: 1/2 mile

The "What is That?" letterbox is located in Pedernales S.P., along with other boxes (see those for details on the park. This box is located on the hike/bike trail across the Pedernales River from the main park, which means you have to cross the Trammel Crossing to get there (get wet). We had our bikes, and even thought the river is up we waded across calf high water to the other side.

Directions:
Get to the park. Once you pay and enter, go to the camping area, and park near campsite 33 in parking lot for day hiking.

To the Letterbox:
Take the trail heading for the "Trammel Crossing", going downhill to the river. Cross over, and climp up the trail on the other side. Once the trail levels out, continue on until you reach a split. There should be a sign on the right pointing out the Trammell Crossing you came from. From the sign, go 17 steps on the right trail. To your right ia a tree with smaller cedars growing through it. Go to the left side base of this tree, under a large rock.
