To get to Ragged Mountain Preserve follow West Lane west off route 71-A (Chamberlain Highway) for 0.6 miles. Parking for the preserve is on the right.

Round trip is just over 2 miles.

Go straight past the map board and turn right onto the blue with red dot trail. When the trail takes a sharp left (there's a sign telling you that the Metacomet is 1.5 miles away) follow this trail (still blue with red dot) crossing a stream (very difficult if the water is high) and going uphill. Eventually you'll go downhill along a waterfall (when the water level is high) and after getting through the rocky section you'll come to a long flat walk eventually coming to two small round boulders (or large rocks) on the left and then a good three sister tree on the right. Another 15 steps from this tree is a split rock on the left. Look in the split.

Retrace your steps unless you want liver for lunch.
