This is a series carved by an 8 year old known as Boo, Chase and Jimmy. There is one logbook and no ink. Please bring green, yellow, orange, blue and red. Stay tuned for possible add-ons to this series in the future! As always, please rehide the boxes well, and leave no trace of your visit.
Find your way to Pleasant Valley Preserve on Macintosh Road in Lyme. There is a small pull-off that can handle 4 cars. Squeeze around the gate and walk the access path. When you reach the first sign board, go straight on yellow onto the Jewett Property. There is a good map of the property posted here for your reference.

Walk through the pretty field and when the trail starts into the woods, stop. Notice the large rock out-cropping to the left of the trail. Walk almost to the left edge of the lowest rock wall (27 steps for Sunshine)Step over the downed tree laying in front of the ledge. Look behind a small triangular rock trap door to find the first box: Halloween
Return to the trail and continue on. The trail will go uphill. When it levels out, see a short stonewall on the right side of the trail. Go to the far side, walk 7 steps, and look low in the wall behind a lichen covered trap door for: Christmas
Going further on yellow takes you further into the woods. The trail will go downhill after a bit. Just before the first wet area that you encounter, where there is a new bridge crossing the seasonal stream, look to the right of the trail into the woods to a split rock, about 4' high. Walk 23 steps to this rock and look on the ground in the split for: Valentine's Day
As you continue on yellow, crossing the bridge that you can see from the Valentine box,the trail now veers to the left here, which is a new part of this trail. It by-passes a larger wet spot up ahead. Soon you will pass some large vines that Jimmy loves to play on whenever we come here and the trail starts to slowly rise. At the point where the trail starts to get steeper, stop at the tree on the right edge of the trail with two trail markers on it, one for each direction. Look at 60* to a rock that has been split by a birch tree. go the 23 steps to this rock and look under the tree's elbow, and the fallen tree, for the last box, Freedom. there is a logbook here.
Please stamp in, rehide well, and either retrace your steps back to the car, or continue on for a nice loop. If you choose to do that, continue up hill to where yellow ends at white. Turn right on white here. go a short way and turn right again onto light blue. follow this trail down hill and just before the brook, this trail joins the yellow,(which used to be green) trail in Pleasant Vally Preserve. If you go right on yellow,it will take you back to the access trail, and then back to your car.
Jimmy, Ace and Sunshine hope you enjoy your time here, and be sure to bring clues for the other boxes here!
