Park at the East St entrance to the Manhan Meadows Sanctuary. It is near to #44 East St., Southampton Ma (if you need to google a map). You will not be going into the sanctuary itself. Instead the directions will lead you along an abandoned railroad trail where you can see wildlife, water, and views of one of the area’s horse farms. (If you were to follow the rail trail the opposite direction, you could find the boxes called "Diamonds in the Rough")
This series has 5 boxes with a logbook only in the last box. Start on the opposite side of the road from the Manhan Meadows sign. With the sign behind you and to your right, head down the path that follows the train tracks away from Manhan Meadows. Twenty-six paces from the street, look right to see a 10-trunk tree off in the woods. Search this tree for leaf 1.
Go back to the railway path and continue on in the direction you were headed. Shortly ahead you will see a giant 3-trunk tree on the right, the middle trunk is broken off. Search this tree for leaf 2. Don’t look down ;)
Continue on the railway path, pass marker E7, pass by a pond, and go straight through the next 2 intersections. Shortly past the second intersection, notice a large 3-trunk tree very near the path on the right. Search this tree for leaf 3.
Continue on the railway path, until you see a skinny birch tree on the right, broken off at about 3 feet high. A short ways behind this birch is a giant stump. Search this stump for leaf 4.
Continue on the railway path, cross another intersection. You will see a grouping of houses in the distance on the left. When you are even with the last house (light yellow house, roughly 45 paces from last intersection), notice a 3 trunk tree on the right. Go three more steps forward and look right to see a large stump back in the woods. Search this stump for leaf 5 and the logbook.
Continue enjoying this trail, and when you're done just make your way back the way you came.
