From Denver, take I-25 South to Castle Rock. Take the Founders Parkway exit.
Turn LEFT onto Founders Parkway.
Follow Founders Parkway all the way up the hill for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection of Founders Parkway and 5th Street.
Go straight through this intersection. Founders Parkway becomes Ridge Road. You will see a King Soopers shopping center on your left side.
Go LEFT through the round-a-bout onto Enderud Blvd.
Continue on Enderud about one mile.
Turn RIGHT onto Mikelson Blvd. Go about ½ mile and turn RIGHT onto Sovereign.
Turn LEFT on Cherry St. by the Castle Rock Fire Station. Park in the parking lot by the basketball courts.
Go LEFT on the paved walkway. When the path splits, go left again towards the road. When you reach the road, cross at the crosswalk.
Veer RIGHT down the path. Walk approximately 60 paces to the end of the wooden fence on the right side. You will see a large rock under the first large bush behind the fence. Look under the rock for Smitty’s stash!
For a nice hike continue down path into Mitchell Creek Canyon. At the bottom of the canyon you will see a red clay path to your right that will lead you on a beautiful hike. You can also continue on the paved path which will take you back up to Enderud Blvd. Enjoy!
