HERE WE GO, STEELERS, HERE WE GO…PITTSBURGH’S GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!

Anyone who watches any professional football knows that the Pittsburgh Steelers have some of the best fans in the NFL. Clarion County, PA is no exception! During football season the local Wal-Mart is just flooded with people proudly wearing there black and gold. We are almost insanely supportive of the Steelers…..Therefore, THIS IS STEELERS COUNTRY!!!!!

This park can be very busy at times…especially on weekends. Please be stealthy when finding boxes.

This park closes during the Winter months. Therefore, you must hunt for these boxes from April-October.

Box #1: Pittsburgh Steelers Logo
Enter Clarion County Park and turn right on road after the baseball field. Park in the parking area near the large yellowish building. Walk up along the woods by the baseball field. Go just a little past the 2nd telephone pole and look into the woods. You will see a downed log/stump. Pittsburgh Steelers Logo is hiding behind this log under a S.P.O.R. Suggested ink colors: red, yellow, blue, grey, and black.

Box #2: The Terrible Towel
To get to ‘The Terrible Towel' from the 1st box (This will be app. a 1 mile hike round-trip with a steep and long hill to climb), walk along the wood line until you come to a Bluebird Trail sign. This sign/trailhead is behind the barn. Take the Bluebird trail. You will hike past a bench, and across a wooden bridge. Next you will come to a split in the path. Go right, towards a turkey feeder. (To the left are natural stone "steps" that are pretty cool also). Continue on the Bluebird trail up a steep hill (trail maps call this hill a 200-step hill!) Continue a little further until you see a sign for the Clarion River Outlook. Walk down and take a look at the beautiful scene. Take the trail to the right of the 3 large poles down over the hill just a bit to get a better look at the river. At the end of the trail, look in the woods to your right. App. 30 feet off the path is a 6 trunk tree. The 'Terrible Towel' is hiding in this tree, covered with leaves and sticks. PLEASE take the time to re-hide well. Suggested Colors: Yellow and Black.

** Directions to 2nd box ('Terrible Towel') with less hiking- Get back in your car and drive past the large pavilion. Follow this road to the right past the soccer fields and bocce ball courts. Drive a little further, and you will see the Clarion County leaf composting facility on your right. Ahead of you will be a sign for the Blue Bird Trail. Park at this sign. Hike the trail a short ways until you come to a ‘Y’. Go left. At the next Blue Bird Trail sign, go right. At the top of the hill, you will see a sign for the Clarion River outlook.

Please record finds on both Atlas Quest, and LbNA, and let me know the condition of the boxes.

Happy Letterboxing!!!!
