Chaffinch Island Park-Guilford
Find your way to the Guilford Green. Take Water Street for about a mile. Take a Left onto Mulberry Point road. About 1/4 of a mile take a Left onto Chaffinch Island Road and follow to the end to the park. Park any place in parking lot.
This letterbox is placed in memory of my Dad who was a huge Notre Dame Football fan. As a kid he used to ride his bike here with friends. There is a tree on Mulberry Point Road just before Chaffinch Island Road that they used to carve their names in. I have spotted it a few times driving by.
Locate the flagpole in the center island of parking area. Start walking back down the road you just drove in on. In a short distance there will be a clearing on your right with a big rock towards the back. Walk to the big rock. Around behind the rock slightly under near a tree you will find what you seek. Cover on hide well when you are finished.
Now you can return to the park and enjoy the views! This is a nice place to picnic and relax. I bring my dog to swim here and he loves it!
