Thanx to wavesandwaterfalls for starting the "Delta Ponds Natives II Series" & inviting us to add on to it. We found it challenging & rewarding. Being an urban path, means there are a lot of muggles to keep an eye out for, but it is well worth it.
Following wave's clues to her "Blue Heron", begin there:

Box 1: Redwing Blackbird
Can you hear the pure three-note song of the redwing? Pass light pole # 96576, & a large cement barricade block. Walk on 7 sidewalk squares. There's a medium, multi-trunked tree on the left. Look to the bottom, right side, under rocks. Free this beautiful bird, but only for a while, then capture him again, re-hide, and continue on this trail. Soon, you'll come to a sharp turn to the right. You have a ways to go yet...

Box 2: Dragonfly (Unfortunately, Dragonfly is MIA & there might be a GeoCache very nearby)
Walking...walking...past apartments on your right behind a "tunnel" of wrought-iron fencing, with the Willamette on your left. It's still pretty in here. Soon there's some condos almost right up to the path. We enjoyed seeing some really nice gardens & landscaping in the tiny yards here. Then more, but different condos/townhouses, further back from the path. Walking...just before mile-post marker 1.25...
What's this? A "swing seat" on the right?! Cool! Sit a spell (In the Winter the seat may be removed). Watch the river flow. Do you see tiny flashes of bright blue? It's beautiful little Dragonflies! It seems some are stuck in that huge, but low stump on your right, on the edge of a clump of trees! Find them at the right, front of the stump, under lots of bark. Be careful. They're quick! Re-capture & re-hide well, from all angles.
It's a lovely path, but we only went so far, today. Check it out.
(Thanx, again, CC)

PLEASE reseal & rehide well. Also please RECORD your find!
