This plant date reflects the original date of the Georgia planting. I have changed the date for all my boxing pals down south :-) It took up residence in Southington in June of 2010.

This boat is a former resident of Alpharetta, Ga. and was moored in Providence Recreation Center there until well after the park closed. I waited several years for the park to reopen but decided that wasn't going to happen and went in to pull the box. The logbook is the original and the original stamp is in a separate baggie for you to see (someone has removed this stamp from the box). It was given to me by RTRW and was carved on an eraser which has petrified into a rock like substance that is virtually unstampable. Gizz has carved a rendition of this stamp for this box.

Park at Cresent Lake on Ledge Road in Southington, best way to get there is from the Plainville end of Ledge Road.

Find the red/orange trail the follows closely along right side of the lake. Keeping the lake to your left follow these blazes until orange turns right. Stay straight on the red which goes completely around the lake, passing a white trail on the right followed by a lizard looking rock formation with a red blaze followed by an old downed tree also with a red blaze on one of the roots and finally coming to a row of three beech trees heading uphill on the right. The box is in the right side of the third tree's root system.

There's a fourth beech on the left with P.S. and MEL carved into it. If you come to that, turn around. This is just over a mile round trip if you retrace your steps. I'm not sure how far it is if you continue forward.
