THIS LETTERBOX IS REPORTED DESTROYED/MISSING WITH CONTENTS THROWN ABOUT THE AREA.

This was my daughters science project, shame on you!!!!

Directions from Route 8:

Take Bullion/Pearl exit and turn onto Route 308 towards Clintonville.

Follow Route 308 to the village of Bullion. Turn left onto Summit City Road.

Follow road to State Game Lands #39 on your left.

Begin your walk at 357 degrees (just to the right of the posted signs.)

Follow the trail north, north west. Pass through the fern patch, past the "kissing" tree on your left and to

N 41 14.948
W 79 52.342

When you hear the water running (in the well casing) continue west at 16 paces.

Look for the coffee can at base of the stump!

Stop and take a look around. The water well you passed once provided drinking water to some of the 1,000 residents of Summit City in 1877. You are standing at the site of an old oil boom town where there were one hundred and eighty buildings, five hotels, two banks, one opera house, forty stores, two doctors, and two attorneys.

Today, the land is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
