[Looking for a caring letterboxer to adopt this box. Betsy at the Summit says "Your clues really need to explain that the part of the Cliff Walk from Ledge Road to the tunnel is extremely rocky and difficult. Also the box itself requires agility and creative maneuvering to reach it. The walk from the other direction (Wetmore/Marine) is much easier." I didn't find it difficult myself. -Choi]

This box is located on Newport's scenic cliff walk, which can be found on the southeast coast of Newport.

Enter cliff walk from either Ledge Road or Wetmore Ave/Marine Ave. If entering from Ledge Road, go east and then north. If entering from Wetmore Ave/Marine Ave, go south. If traveling south from Wetmore Ave/Marine Ave, you will come to a curved tunnel that goes under the japanese tea house. Come out the other end of the tunnel, and keep walking until you reach a flat rock on the ocean side with the number 27 painted on it. If traveling east/north from Ledge Road, you will come to a straight tunnel under another mansion's yard. Come out the other end of this tunnel, and keep going until you find the above-mentioned rock. The box is hidden underneath the cove side of the rock.

beware, as this is a high traffic area. However, we sat on the rock facing the ocean to make our box, and no one paid much attention to us. Also, there is no ink pad, as we found they just dry out after a few months anyway, so make sure to bring your own.
