Four members of my family practice Taekwondo, a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korea. It is the world's most popular martial art (based on the number of participants) and Gyeorugi, a type of sparring, has been an Olympic event since 2000. In Korean, tae (태) means "to strike or break with foot"; kwon (권) means "to strike or break with fist"; and do (도) means "way" or "method"; so "taekwondo" is loosely translated as "the way of the foot and fist" or "the way of kicking and punching". As with many other martial arts, Taekwondo combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. Taekwondo is also used by the South Korean military as part of its training.
Our family visited Orlando in July 2010 when my oldest two children competed in their second Taekwondo Junior Olympics/Senior Nationals Tournament. To commemorate their partcipation and our visit to your Fair City, we planted this box for your pleasure. I hope you enjoy it. The sister box is in retirement in Austin, Texas, the site of the 2009 Tournament.
Begin at the 오렌지 카운티 컨벤션 센터, where the tournament was held. Locate the northwest corner of the 북쪽 건물. There you will find a cluster of nine 바위. Counting from the stairs and proceeding west, find 바위 number seven. The box is hiding in the 구멍 on the west side of number seven.
Please do not attempt when people are present (I'm sure this is a very busy location at times), and re-hide well to escape the notice of assiduous landscape maintenance professionals and security personnel.
