Directions to the Gorge Trail

The Quinnipiac River Gorge Trail can be accessed directly off of River Road (State Route 70). Handicap Accessible parking areas are available on Oregon Road at Red Bridge (Lions Club Park). General Parking is located at the Dossin Beach parking areas adjacent to Hanover Pond. Additional parking is available in a gravel lot on Finch Avenue at the Cheshire town line.

You can access this letterbox from either end of the trail, but it is near the end of the trail with the red bridge.
This trail is completely paved and easy for strollers and bikes.

The Green Fairy is flying all across Connecticut to visit her friends.
Today she visited the Quinnipiac River Gorge Trail to visit Red Ladybug. When you find the Red Ladybug's house, there will be a letterbox as well as some fairy dust to sprinkle! Good luck!

* From the red bridge, walk down the trail until you see a yellow reflector post on your right.

* Take 15 paces down the trail (1 pace equals 2 steps)

* Look to your right and you will see a tree shaped like the number 4 with lots of exposed roots.

* Walk up the hill to the tree and look inside the roots on the left side. The Red Ladybug letterbox will be hidden behind rocks, sticks, and leaves.

Please email if there are any problems with the letterbox: jolenemiceli@cox.net
