Pagosa Springs, Colorado is one of the most beautiful places on earth, just below Wolf Creek pass. Pagosa is surrounded by the largest contiguous wilderness area in the United States and the San Juan National Forest. Nestled at an altitude of 7,000 feet, with over 300 days of sunshine.

This box is fun to find in a series with pogo-sa-springs box & spy turtle box I will ad 2 sets of directions, depending on where you want to start you search from.

BOX CLUES: Hwy 160 runs through town, so no matter which direction you are coming from this is the road you need be on. Head towards the old town area where the hot springs are. There is a “One Way” parking area that needs to be entered from the west end, you will see a small volcano shaped mound bubbling over with steamy water in this parking area. Find a spot to park and get out to enjoy the lovely smell of sulphur. Choose from one of the two clues below:

Clue 1: Find the stairs that lead down to the river and go down to the river walk. Take a right at the bottom of the stairs. First find pogo-sa-springs box, once you are done, keep heading the same directon, down the path, toward the arched bridge. Pass the entrace to the bridge (don’t go over the bridge) and to the right there is the parking lot for the River Point Coffee Café.

Or Clue 2: From the parking lot head back towards it’s entrance to the sidewalk that passes in front of Tequilas Restaurant and a realty office. There is a hanging sign at the far end of the realty office that reads River point Coffee Café, and has an arrow. Follow the arrow to the café parking lot.

Once in the parking lot, find an electrical box next to the railroad tie planter with pine trees in it. Hot Diggity Dog is hanging out at the base of the signpost under a rock.

Please be very discreet, this can be a busy place. Be aware of all the people watching. When you find the box, take advantage of one of the picnic tables to stamp so you don’t draw attention. Do a good job of putting things back the way you found them. Enjoy the beauty of the river, stroll along the river walk, it’s a great relaxing spot.
