*****It seems that Champ swam off during the recent flooding.*****
While enjoying our week's vacation here in Vermont without our 3 kids (thank you grandpa), we noticed that Champ was everywhere. There is a nice book about Champ, Champ car-washes, Champ diners, etc. So, of course we looked for a letterbox with Champ in it.
We could find none.
Being over-the-top letterboxers we had of course brought along our carving set. I decided to make one up so everyone could enjoy a stamp of Champ, Lake Champlain's buddy of the Loch Ness Monster.
We looked long and hard for just the right spot, a spot where Champ might hide or stop to enjoy a snack of fish. We found the perfect spot in North Hero. It's hidden at the North Hero/Alburg Dept. of Fish and Wildlife area off Bridge Rd.
Walk all the way down to the fishing area at the end of the pier. Before you get to the wooden railing notice the large stone wall on your right. Find the rock's cornerstone. Look under the large flat rock to its right to find where Champ is hiding. He's tucked under that rock and secured there with another rock on top.
Please rehide well and if our box becomes damaged or needs another log book, help from someone in VT would be greatly appreciated.
Enjoy!
