So, we put off our annual Freeport trip. This is the latest we've ever gone up -- and I wasn't prepared!!

Instead of carving a new stamp with a memory of this fair city, I dug through my old stamps that sit collecting dust . . . trying to find one I could pin a story too . . . as I like to share a little story with my boxes.

I carved this stamp November 13, 2007 -- it was my 99th carve.

It was an image that when with a saying my mom used to always use when my brother or I would be begging for something, "If frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their butts."

A few weeks ago, Becki's mom took the kids out for a walk and came back with an empty jar with three tadpoles. We watched these tadpoles get bigger, then they turned from black to a greenish color with some spots. Their bodies changed to a rounder shape and actually started looking like frogs.

Our family was THRILLED when we saw that two of the three had the back two legs and the third had ALL four legs!! We got the camera out and took pictures of our little creatures and couldn't stop looking at them . . . or what we could get a glimpse of. You see, early on the kids put grass clippings in the jar and the water turned into this dark green color we couldn't see through. We could only see the tadpoles when they got really close to the side of the jar.

So, I decided to clean up the water some so we could better watch their metamorphoses. I carefully emptied the old dirty water . . . making sure not to discard our precious little friends. I then put in clean tap water -- not to hot, not to cold.

Minutes later all three of our little buddies were dead!!

I felt like the bum of the day. I couldn't believe it. I was just as sad as the kids.

Indeed, our three growing science projects did get their wings . . . and they will never bump their butts.

Oh, after their untimely deaths I had the voice of Aunt Edna ringing in my head . . . "FROG KILLER!!!"

Ok, that was a pitiful lead in, but its all I've got for you :-)

CLUES; there is a 7 foot statue of Abraham Lincoln in Freeport. Go to the park he watches over . . . drive in the direction his back is facing. Over the white bridge . . . a small clearing to your left lined with long grass. There is a large tree with a large branch pointing towards the street.

Your little frog is on the ground tucked right close to the tree under bark. He's in the long grass just to the left of the tree.

**UPDATE**

"We did notice that when you come into the area that has the letter box, it's a one way drive. You end up coming to the box with it on your right at the first tree with the branch hanging down, pointing toward the road."
