Mans Best Friend

My son, (Fisher of Men), loves our dog, (Woman’s Best Friend), so much that he decided to hide a letterbox in memory of her. So we decided to hide it in Dahlquist Park because this is where we spent a lot of time training her when she was a puppy. Lilah is a Black Lab that we received as a Christmas present this past year and we have been enjoying her every since.

Dahlquist Park is located at 3200 Oak Grove Drive, behind Temple Baptist Church. This park has a .43 mile looped walking path, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, playground and horseshoe courts. The path runs beside a beautiful little creek that is fun to play in, and because Lilah loves the water so much we decided to hide her box next to the waters edge.

You can park in the parking lot and take the path on the left along the creeks edge. When you get to about halfway you will see a bridge that crosses the water going to the neighborhood behind the park. If you would like to get a sight of the meandering creek you could go on the bridge, but to get to the letterbox you will need to go past the bridge and start looking to the left for a Monstrous tree that has two huge trunks. It looks like the right side is taking the left side under its wing. If you reach the fenced in area you have gone too far. Mans Best Friend is sitting at the base of this tree, waiting to go for a dip in the water.

Make sure to hide under logs when done.
