Patterson’s Pride
***Missing as of 10/29/05 - may be replaced later***
This is the first box of a planned series we call ‘Legends of Jackson County’. In 1884, John Patterson purchased the rights to fairly new invention. He proceeded to improve it then founded a company to build and market it that became one of the giants of the 20th century business world. A monument to Patterson featuring his pride and joy was placed in Jackson county. You’ll need to find this monument to find our box. It’s not really a mystery box since if you can decipher the clues below you’ll know exactly where it is!

(Hint: The cipher is a Vignere square type and if you remember the name of the Lone Ranger’s horse you’ll have no trouble solving it. Spacing is for ease of transcription only.)
