To find this box, you need to go to the Sleepy Hollow Inn in Huntington. This inn has a series of bike/hike and cross country ski/snowshoe trails that are available for day use.

NOTE: There is a trail fee for biking ($6 for adults and $4 for kids) and hiking ($3 for adults and $2 for kids).
In winter, skiing fees are $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Snowshoeing is $10 for adults and $7 for kids.

If you are close to the area, there are season pas options.

This box has been put in place with permission from the Sleepy Hollow Inn.

CLUES:
To get to Sleepy Hollow Inn, find Sherman Hollow Road, which is off Main Road and very close to the Huntington Audubon Society. The Inn is up the road 1.9 miles on the left. Follow the Inn's entrance to the parking lot (about a 1/4 mile).

Once you are parked and ready to go, head to the back of the big, round (and beautiful) barn. start trekking up the field and look for the Bishop's Trail. Hike the trail for one mile and you will reach the Butternut Cabin. It takes about 20 minutes to get there with some gentle ups and downs. When you get there, be respectful of the fact that there may be guests using the cabin. The box can be found by climbing down underneath the cabin's deck. Look for the post beam that has a tree stump just behind it on the uphill slope. Behind the stump, you should see a flat stone. The box it underneath the stone. If no one is using the cabin, I recommend taking it up to the deck to do your logging and stamping. There is a nice view of Camel's Hump from the deck.

Please carefully re-hide the box where you found it and let me know if it needs any attention.

For a more challenging ski/hike/shoe, you can take the Butternut Cabin Trail. This starts out more difficult and the levels off into a moderate trek.
