Mary Ann Mayfield, Rodeo Queen, 1948.
For a time, the Colborn Bowl became the origin and the center of the rodeo universe as Gene Autry and his partner, Everett Colborn attracted many other notable entertainers to participate in the Rodeo in Dublin. Upcoming stars frequented the small community as the rodeo kicked off a national tour each rodeo season. In 1948, Mary Ann Mayfield was one of these stars. Come along and find the Rodeo Queen!!

From Rt. 165 in RI, find Escoheag Hill Rd. Follow this road generally north for 1.9 miles till you see a red gate on the right. Park here. You will pass Stepping Stone Ranch on your way. You may even see some horses along the road so take care.
Follow the old road (Wickaboxet Road on some maps) past the red gate for a ways. You will pass several trails on your right. Some marked, some not. The road will start to go downhill and you will pass Tanner Washout to your right. Continue on the old road until you see some red shelters to your right. Find the blue/yellow blazes and follow them north.
Follow these blue/yellow blazes for a time until it opens up and you can see a stone bridge over which you will cross to take the white blazed trail south. Take some time to see the falls:

After checking out the falls, find your way back to the white trail and continue on, crossing the stream on a wooden bridge and straight on white. Follow the white trail until it intersects with the yellow trail. Follow the yellow trail at 122º. You will only follow the yellow trail 140 paces or so until you see 2 trees joined at the base, one named "Ben" the other named "M". From "Ben" and "M" take 23 paces at 253º to a large tree with a rock near its base. From here, take a look at 253º to a large, elongated boulder with another large tree behind it. Proceed to this tree. 2 paces at 217º, at the base of some smaller sized boulders, behind a few rocks, you will find the Rodeo Queen stabled. When finished, please re-stable well, out of sight.
Head back the way you came on the yellow trail to the intersection with white. Here you will continue on the yellow trail, to a woods road, where you can go left and follow back to your car. Hope you had fun finding the Rodeo Queen!
