Enter Pattison State Park. You will have to either have a state park sticker or buy a day pass upon entering the park.
Go to the beach area and enter the underpass that goes under HWY 35 to see Big Manitou Falls. At the fork in the trail, keep to the right and walk up approximately 22 steps noticing the scenery to your left. Continue on the trail until you see the first scenic overlook on your left. Take in the beauty of the falls to your left, and then look to your right to see the next scenic overlook. Proceed to there for a beautiful photo opportunity. After scenic outlook number two, continue on the trail to the left and angle to the right following the rustic path. Enjoy this hike through the woods.
Enter the meadow and view the drinking fountain at 12 o’clock. Walk clockwise angling at 10 o’clock approximately 40 steps toward the tree next to the short, flat stump with a bull’s eye. From the tree, walk towards the woods about 13 steps. Behind the fallen log awaits your reward. Enjoy the history of Pattison on your way back to the beach.
