This is located in a drive-by location.
Wittman Regional Airport was originally Oshkosh Airport Inc and founded on October 11, 1927. On December 15, 1928 the airport received its first commercial airmail service. Northwest Airways delivered the mail to Oshkosh and the surrounding Fox Cities. Steve Wittman (an excellent air race pilot and designer) became the airport manager on March 31, 1931 and held the position for 38 years. In 1972 the airport was renamed after Wittman. In July 1970 the Wittman Regional Airport hosted the first EAA Fly-In. Now during every year of the Fly-In, Wittman Regional Airport becomes the busiest airport in the world.
After finding the Oshkosh Truck/Boyd Cemetery letterbox, continue West on Waukau Ave to the corner of Waukau and Hughes Street. Take note of the Wittman field tower.
Continue north on Hughes and you will pass Wittman Field Gate 4 on your left. Oshkosh Truck Gate 12 will be across from it on your right. Continue on Hughes Street to Gate 13. After Gate 13, there is a row of 8 trees in front of a green fence. Stop at the fifth tree. There is a cut off trunk that houses the stamp.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
