Distance: 2 miles give or take a tenth once you get to the beginning of the footpath.
THIS BOX IS NOW LOCATED PAST THE END OF THE SCONSET WALK DUE TO EROSION AND THEREFORE IS UNATTAINABLE AT THIS TIME! SORRY FOLKS - I WILL TRY TO RELOCATE IT NEXT SUMMER.
On the island of Nantucket 30 miles at sea
I planted a treasure box from me to thee.
It's not to be found in old Nantucket town
but in a village to the east of some renown.
Start your journey at the rotary and follow the road
where you'll find distance marked not in metric mode.
Another rotary signals the end of the line
Sconset is the name of this village so fine.
Near the old town well you'll find a street-(not "Back")
Follow the street which is more like a cart track.
At the end turn right to find the start of the hike,
You'll know it's the right one if it says "No Bike".
This lovely walk skirts folks backyards so please
respect their privacy and keep your eyes to the seas.
Keep your eyes open for a sign that the end is near
Your treasure is behind the sign's pole, my dear.
The subject of the stamp can be seen quite soon
walk on past 2 more homes then look left of noon.
