The Green Fairy Flies to Trout Brook Trail

The Green Fairy is flying all across Connecticut to visit her friends.
Today she visited Trout Brook Trail to visit the Pink Butterfly Family. When you find the Pink Butterfly Family’s house, there will be a letterbox as well as some fairy dust to sprinkle! Good luck!

This hike is paved for the majority. At the end, it leads onto a grassy softball area. You will pass through some wooded areas, and then go through some residential areas. The whole walk is stroller accessible.

• Follow the paved trail keeping the stream on your right.
• Pass where the fence ends.
• Pass a lone tree in a field on your left.
• Pass under a weeping willow.
• Follow the trail up a hill to residential houses.
• Take a left onto the sidewalk (you won’t see a street sign, but this street is Manchester Circle.
• At the stop sign, take a left onto Manchester Circle, again!
• At stop sign, take a left onto Elmhurst St.
• Take a left onto Mayflower St.
• Take the paved path to the left leading back to the park after 52 Mayflower St.
• Follow the path between the houses.
• At the fork, take a left heading toward the basketball court.
• At the softball field, leave the paved trail and go down the hill toward the bleachers.
• Pass the bleachers, walk toward the pond keeping the softball field to your left.
• When the softball fence stops and begins to go left, walk up the hill to your right.
• On your right, there will be a 5 sister tree so big, that you can’t wrap your arms around it.
• Look behind the tree at the roots, covered with leaves and twigs, to find what the Green Fairy left!
