NOTE: Currently the first box is missing. I will be going out soon to either try and find it or replace it.

Home Sweet Home

This series of letterboxes is to commemorate my first anniversary with Ninja Crane and our first house we just bought very recently. This is my first letterbox so if there are any problems or issues please let me know ASAP. Thank you and enjoy!!

Located on the Hockanum River Linear Park starting at the Dart Hill Road entrance (across from Thrall Road.) There is a parking lot available but start the letterbox hunt at the walking entrance.

The Foundation

Every house needs a foundation. Foundations have been made from stone, concrete, or cement. Begin on the path from the walking entrance (you will pass two picnic tables.) At the first intersection turn right towards the paved path. From that point take 11 paces up the path. On your right will be twin maples and their brother. In the knot of the third brother will be the foundation of your home. Wood framing and stone foundation create the beginnings of a house.

The Roof

Without a roof, your house will not last long against the weather! Depending on where you live your roof can be made of banana leaves, straw, saplings, pine boughs, metal, or even ceramic.

Return to the original path and turn right. Continue on the orange blazed path for quite a while and stop at the top of the first large hill. At that intersection three trees point the way to go (hint: look for color for your direction.) Follow that direction towards the narrow path marked in orange. Cross the bridge and crest the slight hill. Here there are several blue tagged trees. Look for the only unmarked maple on your left. Behind this tree is your second stamp for your house.

The Home

A house is simply a building without love. Love transforms a house into a home.

Go back to the intersection of three trees at the top of the hill and begin down the hill back towards the beginning of the trail. After the hill, find a small old stump directly in the path that is across from an orange blazed tree. From that stump walk seven paces. Look to the left to find two star crossed saplings have fallen in love. A few feet back from their embrace is the heart of your new home.
