A PIRATES LIFE (The story of Captain White)

Arrrgh me starts me tale of a pirate of old, ye seeks his treasure of jewels and gold.
Tools of the trade ye’ll need ye see, to complete this task beyond three of three.
A map and compass truly a must, unless your skills are what ye trust.
We start our quest on land marked “P”, just south of landmarks “C” and “B”
The story be told of a pirate called White, who hid his treasure after a long lost fight.

Ye begin your trek from a wooden post, in the Northeast corner, color blue I boast.
Look to the north, a boulder ye see, continuing on to another among trees.
From boulder to boulder ye walk little more, keeping along the western shore.
Ye look for a path not on the map, its bed of soft needles are great for a nap.
As ye keep the secret tried and true, walk this path towards a trail of blue.
Perhaps 18 paces or so I believe, ye look for a cairn at the base of a tree.
To the south of ye spot is your hidden pleasure, look carefully to find the treasure.
At the base of a pine is what ye seek, remember be quiet and discreet.
The woods have eyes and greedy hands, which will steal the box and destroy the land.
Returning back from which ye came, ye continue north along the same.

Ye seeks an opening both big and large, to land a boat perhaps a barge.
From the Southern end of this dock, ye find a maple, pine and some rock.
A bearing of 76’ is what you shoot, to find a landmark that helps hide the loot.
With the lack of a ship to bring ye across, ye must continue your trek don’t slip on the moss.

Continue on north along the western shore, looking for an opening the water has tore.
The purpose of this is to stay tried and true from the Northeast end and a pine shoot 92’.
This is just a check to ensure ye are right; the land mark ye seek should still be in sight.

As ye continue along the western shore, ye notice the trees to your left stand no more.
They tell of a battle that once was here, between Captain White and the enemies he fear.
As the cannon balls were shot from his ship, they landed their target causing a R.I.P.
As the rounds came in and left their mark, trees exploded and were stripped of bark.
Fallen trees and cavernous holes are remnants of the battles toll.
Many a men died that day, fighting for treasure the pirate’s way.

As his explosions crippled the wooded land, White’s ship got stuck in the shallow sand.
As he sat there like a sitting duck, his enemies took advantage of their luck.
They continued the fight all through the night; eventually sinking his ship called "Ghost Fright".
Now some would think that they got White too, but being a pirate he escaped tried and true.
So hence we continue our quest today to search for his treasure before it gets away.

One last check will be made up a way, the trail wants to split so don’t go astray.
At the third opening ye look for a tree both pink and blue, shoot from the tall stump that is right behind you.
At a bearing of 140 ye shall spy your mark; ye might want to hurry the sky’s getting dark.

Continue your quest along his trail, look for the tree with a whole the size of a whale.
Within this whole lies box number two, under some rocks hidden from view.
Remember to be quiet and discrete, the enemy is around ye looking to cheat.

As ye come to a fork so similar in life, a decision must be made to overcome strife.
Stay strong, stay brave and never be yellow, ye must venture on my questing fellow.
Continue your quest as ye begin to descend, if you’re on the right trail ye’ll come to a bend.
The bend is your friend as ye will see, it brings ye to the north end of the sea.
A wooden footbridge is where ye’ll look; it crosses over the Harbor Brook.

To find box three ye must look hard and see, the land mark for which ye shot times three.
If ye were true to your skill and your readings where right, all three bearings should have landed ye the same sight.

Now the dangers have increased along the eastern shore, beware of jagged rocks, deadly snakes and a wild boar.
As ye walk along hear nature’s song, the splash of fish the chirps of frogs.
Ye ascend the trail above the sea, ye pass a mossy rock with a little birch tree.
As ye make your way back in the forest, the rocks grow big and ye the shortest.
The trail is rocky and at times not clear, hug the shore and ye will soon be there.

At last ye spy your landmark key, from atop ye over look the "Crescent Sea".
If ye need to ensure that ye are right, reverse 180’ and check your sight.
Depending on the season and leaves on the tree, ye might only see openings one and three.

From the base of the burned and hollowed tree, walk due south to a boulder and small birch tree.
On the back side of the boulder is what ye see, yes at last ye found box three of three.

Now I hope ye have enjoyed the tale of old, the hunt for glory the find of gold.
Though the stamps aren’t carved or made by hand, the tale is original and made by man.
