In our travels today we came upon the Race Brook Tract Recreational Area. There are a number of trails and it was a great day for a walk. The box is right at the start so after you find it, enjoy your walk.
The area is off Rt. 114 just north of Rt. 34. If you're headed northbound it will be on your right. Pull in to the parking area and park. Now go back a little and follow the road as you might have if you had driven straight in without turning into the parking area. Go down this trail till you get to the 'gate' just before the bridge. Instead of going by the gate, go to the right and down to the brook. Go to the right past the big tree and stop just as you need to step over a small tree. There will be a 4 sisters across the brook. Facing the brook, turn 180 degrees and look for the big tree with 2 big rocks in front of it. Look under the smaller rocks between the two big ones. (The top one should be heart shaped.)
As always, seal everything up and cover well when you're done. Now go off and enjoy your walk.
