Make your way to Ragged Mountain Preserve on West Lane in Berlin. Follow West Lane west off of route 71-A also known as Chamberlain Highway for ~ .5 miles. Trailhead is on the right.
After parking take the blue with red dot trail that starts at the far right. A trail map might come in handy.
Follow blue red dot until you come to the intersection of Blue Metacomet and Blue/Red Dot. You will be hiking at least an hour to get to this point. At the intersection you will see a sign that says Andrews Street 2.4 miles. Take blue to the right at that sign ( NW ) heading towards Andrews Street. Walk along the berm until you see a three sister tree on your right with 3 red dots on it. Look behind this tree for the box.
Many times over the years we've watched the stories on the evening news about people who have gotten lost on Ragged Mountain. It was ironic that on the day I planted the box, chthiker and I had to give our map to some folks who had no idea where they were.
