A week ago I spent an entertaining afternoon with my wife and granddaughter walking through a corn maze at the Fort Hill Farm in Thompson Ct. One of the owners that I talked to had heard of letterboxing and thought it would be neat to have a box in the maze. I decided that since it cost 12 dollars to go through the maze that it might detract from boxers going to the Farm. Therefore, you can go to Fort Hill Farm and enjoy the maze if you wish, and can look at all the beautiful flowers at the Farm, and especially you should enjoy the wonderful ice cream, but you can locate the box without spending a nickel if you wish.
Fort Hill Farm is located on Rt. 200, 1.8 miles east of exit 99 of I395. You pass through the Thompson village which is full of beautiful mansions and a lovely town common.
After you enjoy your tour of the Farm, or get lost in the maze, make your way to the ice-cream stand. Sit at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the scenery. You will notice a large flat rock standing on edge near a stone wall in a flower garden. The "A-maize-D" letterbox is behind that rock. Please use care in removing and replacing the box.
