Sugarloaf Trail Letterbox

This letterbox is located just off a Snowmobile/ATV Trail. It is a very short hike on the trail.

Find West Kingfield Road off Route 27 in Kingfield. Jordan Lumber Company is on the corner.

Travel approximately 1.7 miles down W. Kingfield Road. After a little bit, the road will curve to the right and then to the left. As the road curves left, you pass Horn Road o the right and cross over a small bridge. Keep going. Pass Jordan Excavation on the left, then a small pond on the right. The trail is just up from this pond on the right side of the road. It is the marked snowmobile trail. There is an unmarked trail right before the trail that you want. Park on the side of the road. Do not drive into the trail! Snowmobiles and ATVs are only allowed.

Walk onto the trail. You will cross a lot of rocks on the path as you enter. Keep walking around a bend and up a slight incline. On the right of the path you will see a fallen pine tree. The broken part of the tree (splintered trunk) still in the ground is about 5 and a half feet tall - the rest of the tree falls to the southeast. If you are at the tree and look towards the road from where you began, you can see the trail marker at the roadside. (OR the tree is 80 adult steps from the top of the rocks at the beginning of the trail). If you hike up to where the trail widens, turn around because you went too far. Look in the broken trunk of the tree among the bark for your prize.

Please be discreet and re-hide better than you found it.
Please email me and let me know how the box is! This is our first plant!!
