Travel to Prospect Park in Hudson, WI. The prospects for fun are plentiful here. The lower park offers a playground, pavillion for gatherings, and volleyball court. The upper park boasts a beautiful view of the St. Croix Valley which is often the site for nuptials. On Saturdays you may find groups of teens and young adults playing medieval sword tag. This park is also the site of the annual Booster Easter Egg hunt. Your adventure will start at the wooden pavillion (with the fireplace) by the playground. Ascend the concrete staircase with flower pots. At the top of the stairs, look to your right to see a large clearing with a few parking spaces. This clearing overlooks the St. Croix River Valley. Just to the left of the parking spaces there is a woodchip path leading into the woods. Go straight down the path (heading downhill) until you reach a metal sign. At the sign, go left toward the "scenic overlook". Continue along the path until you reach a fork. Start along the right fork and immediately you will see a small dirt path on the left which heads up a steep hill. Go up this path all the way to the top where there is a clearing (it's steep!). At the clearing turn left and go approximately 16 steps (following the mowed grass of the clearing). At 16 paces, look to the woods on your left and you will see two large, adjacent trees on the edge of the clearing. Go to the trees and seek. After replacing the box, you may exit the area by following the clearing until you reach the pavement. Once you reach the pavement, look left. With a short walk you will once again reach the concrete stairs leading down to the pavillion.
